  26.  1. INSTALLING THE MODE DEFINITION FILE

  29.  This ANKH demo needs a special screen mode (640x400) to run. You have to add
  30.  this screen mode to your mode definition file (MDF). This is done as follows:
  31.  
  32.  1) Locate your mode definition file.
  33.     It is usually found on your harddisc at:
  34.     !Boot.Resources.Configure.Monitor.Acorn ...
  35.     You'll find several files here. If you are not sure about the right one,
  36.     click on the monitor icon on the right corner of your icon bar. You'll find
  37.     the name of your file on top of the appearing window.

  39.  2) Adding the ANKH mode to your MDF
  40.     Drag the ANKH mode file into a text editor (!Edit, !StrongEd, !Zap...).
  41.     (You find this file inside !Ankh (called ANKHMODE1) )
  42.     Now drag your MDF into the editor too.
  43.     Now use the cut and paste function to paste the ANKH mode into your MDF.
  44.     CAUTION: Make sure that the '#End' is still at the end of your MDF. If the
  45.     '#End' is located BEFORE the new ANKH mode, it will not work.

  47.  3) Save the MDF.

  49.  4) If your monitor has problems with ANKHMODE1 then delete the ANKH mode from
  50.     your MDF and try another file (ANKHMODE2 or ANKHMODE3).

  56.  2. NO MUSIC?

  59.  As you might have noticed, there is no music. This is because the full version
  60.  of ANKH comes with large CD tracks. These add a lot of atmosphere to the game.
  61.  So if you'd like to hear some groovy high quality CD music, simply call
  62.  (+44) 01925 755 043 -and some friendly people will sort out that little
  63.  problem.

  87.   Always look at the items you're carrying, the descriptions might help you.
  88.   To simply USE an item without combining, just click 'use' and doubleclick the
  89.   object.

  92.   Go to the Nile, pick up a green leaf (move the pointer over the plants), give
  93.   it to the father.

  96.   Talk to the stuff trader, get his scissors,
  97.   go to the Nile, use the scissors with the moist stone.
  98.   Give the scissors back to the trader.
